UC Berkeley Prof. David Vogel is available today to comment on the impact of President Trump's expected revocation of the waiver that allowed California to set its own standards for automobile emissions.

Vogel has written extensively on both environmental management and government regulation. His 2018 book, "California Greenin': How the Golden State Became and Environmental Leader," includes an examination of how California passed the world’s first emissions standards for motor vehicle pollutants in 1964, and how the states greenhouse gas emissions rules became the basis for the Obama Administration’s new national rules. Trump is now rolling back those rules.
