Dr. Baron is currently an Associate Professor in the Division of Public Health, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. She is a clinical psychologist with specialty training in Behavioral Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Baron completed her bachelor's degree with honors and distinction at the Ohio State University. She completed her master's degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Utah. Her predoctoral residency in health psychology was completed at Rush University Medical School. After graduate school, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in health services research as well as an MPH degree at Northwestern University. Prior to her position at the University of Utah, Dr. Baron held faculty positions at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and Rush University Medical School.

Dr. Baron is involved in sleep research as well as providing non-drug treatment for sleep disorders. In the clinic, she provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the most effective treatment for chronic insomnia. She also delivers cognitive and behavioral treatment for other sleep disorders including circadian disorders, problems using CPAP treatment in sleep apnea, nightmares, sleepwalking, and coping with disorders of excessive sleepiness such as narcolepsy.

Dr. Baron also translates her passion for the science of sleep and sleep disorders treatment as the director of the behavioral sleep medicine training program and is enthusiastic about increasing the training and awareness of non-drug treatments for sleep disorders because they are highly effective at improving sleep and quality of life.

Her research has been supported by the NIH, including the completion of a K23 mentored patient-oriented research award and a current 5 year R01 research project examing the role of sleep and circadian disruption on appetite regulation. Dr. Baron's research has been widely covered by the press including being featured in the press such as the New York Times, Cooking Light, Men's Health, Webmd.com, Wirecutter.com, and US News and World Report.

Jessie Borelli is an Associate Professor of Psychological Science at University of California, Irvine. She is a clinical psychologist specializing the field of developmental psychopathology; her research focuses on the links between close relationships, emotions, health, and development, with a particular focus on risk for anxiety and depression.

Jessie Borelli also maintains a small private practice where she sees children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, with a specialization in the areas of anxiety disorders, eating disorders, adoption, and parenting (www.compass-therapy.com).

Jonathan W. Friedberg, M.D., is Director of the James P. Wilmot Cancer Institute and the Samuel Durand Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is a driving force behind the operations of Wilmot’s clinical and research programs, leading a team of associate directors who help make decisions surrounding Wilmot’s clinical, research, education, and community outreach missions.
Dr. Friedberg serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO), the flagship journal of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He began this five-year term in June 2021. Prior to his editor-in-chief role, he served as associated editor of JCO. He has also served as a reviewer and on editorial boards for a number of medical journals.
Friedberg is a chair of the lymphoma committee in the SWOG group of the NCI National Clinical Trials Network and is an independently R01-funded investigator in the field of lymphoid malignancies.
Dr. Friedberg received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. His postgraduate training included an internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also completed a medical oncology and hematology fellowship at Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care in Boston. Dr. Friedberg also has an M.M.Sc. degree from Harvard Medical School in clinical investigation. He holds subspecialty certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
His research interests focus on development of novel therapies for patients with lymphoma. He formerly received a Scholar in Clinical Research award from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, based upon his work with an oral inhibitor of a protein called Syk, which demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of several different forms of lymphoma. He is currently funded as PI of the ILyAD trial, evaluating patients with follicular lymphoma receiving rituximab with a vitamin D intervention. As chair of SWOG, he is co-leader of the current North American intergroup effort in advanced stage Hodgkin lymphoma. He is also a founding member of the Lymphoma Epidemiology of Outcomes Consortium.

Sophia Pathai, MD, PhD, MSc is a physician with over 20 years of clinical and professional experience, including as an ophthalmologist in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), as a clinician scientist and faculty member at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and as a Staff Ophthalmologist on the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital. She later transitioned to the corporate sector, serving in global leadership roles in clinical development and medical affairs at Roche, AbbVie, and Johnson & Johnson.
Dr. Pathai holds an MBBS (medical degree) and BSc in Tumor Biology from University College London Medical School, and a Masters in Epidemiology and PhD from LSHTM. Her PhD, which was funded by a Wellcome Trust Clinical Fellowship, investigated clinical aspects of accelerated biological aging. She is a Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London), a Member of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Physicians, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. She was a mentor for the Johnson & Johnson WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program and is a board member of Orbis UK.
