John Stanton, Ph.D. is a professor of food marketing at Saint Joseph's and an internationally recognized marketing expert. He’s participated in numerous speaking engagements and has been recognized in more than 20 publications internationally. Stanton has also worked in the food industry as Vice President of Marketing for an international coffee company and director of research for an advertising agency, which has consulted for many nationally known food companies including Campbell Soup Company, Procter & Gamble, Acme, Kroger, Pepsi, Frito Lay, Florida Dept. of Citrus, Kellogg and others. 

He has worked with many of the commodity agriculture groups including the Florida Department of Citrus, and has served as an expert and expert witness to many food and beverage companies including Whole Foods, Target, Coca Cola and more. 

Stanton has written 10 books and writes a monthly column in Food Processing. He was a Board of Directors or Advisors of a number of food companies including Frankford Candy Company, Herr’s Foods, Premio Foods, The Philadelphia Cheesesteak Company and David Michael flavor company. Currently, he is on the Board of Directors of T-Pro.

Lauren Chenarides is an expert in food policy and marketing, data analysis, and consumer demand.
Her research focuses on understanding the barriers people face to access affordable, healthy foods and the consequences of poor food access.

Additionally, she examines how food retailers’ decisions might exacerbate or mitigate the hardships consumers face living in underserved areas. 

Lauren Chenarides is an assistant professor at the Morrison School of Agribusiness in the W. P. Carey School of Business.

Professor Chenarides is actively involved in scholarly associations, including the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, American Economic Association, and Northeast Agricultural and Resource Economics Association.

Tim Richards’ research focuses on applied econometrics with respect to food markets and food policy issues, particularly quantitative marketing, data analytics, retailing strategy, agricultural labor and food policy.

Richards is the Morrison Chair in Agribusiness in the W. P. Carey School of Business and teaches managerial economics, strategic pricing for retailers, and risk management and insurance. He also does extensive consulting work in the food retailing and manufacturing industries for clients that include Walmart, Kroger, SuperValu, Hormel, Sara Lee, JBS Swift, Foster Farms, and a number of others.

Consumer Economics, Food Marketing, Food Policy, Food Prices, food system, supply and demand

is an agricultural and consumer economist who studies what we eat and why we eat it. She is especially interested in how food marketing and domestic food policy influence consumer preferences and demand. She applies this knowledge by working with folks up and down the supply chain and sharing the field with students in the classroom.
