Few people use diet programs and restrictive strategies like Jenny Craig and Atkins, while most of Americans are trying to lose weight with better long-term health habits.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics reports in a national survey that many Americans, while overweight, are trying a number of realistic long-term methods to improve their health and weight.
Among the strategies stated by respondents were: eating smaller portions, combining exercise with cutting calories, cutting back on foods high in sugar.
