Dr. Lipman, a nurse practitioner and professor of pediatric nursing:* developed and maintains the only registry of pediatric Type 1 diabetes in Philadelphia; * produced landmark data on diabetes in urban Latino and African American children; * created the novel, award-winning program “Dance for Health” to prevent Type 2 diabetes in urban populations through a healthy lifestyle;* co-created My DiaText, a text message-based app for children aged 10 to 16 to learn to manage their Type 1 diabetes.
