WHOI will produce two medium-size remotely operated vehicles (mROVs) beginning later this year with a relatively small footprint and operated by smaller teams of engineers, making them more easily transported and designed to work from the Regional Class Research Vessels fleet scheduled to begin entering the US. WHOI will produce two medium-size remotely operated vehicles (mROVs) beginning later this year to support growing demand for research, exploration, and restoration on the seafloor and in the water column on missions that do not require the capabilities of a large vehicle and with technology such as cameras, lights, manipulator arms, and mission-specific sensors and samplers added as needed.
