The innovative plant e-skin developed by researchers from the National University of Singapore is ultrathin and transparent, allowing it to be seamlessly attached to the surface of plant leaves to collect data on key plant parameters, such as temperature and strain, without hindering the plant’s natural processes or causing physical damage to the plant.

The digital-twin platform developed by Associate Professor Chengkuo LEE (centre), Assistant Professor Eunyoung CHAE (left) and Ms Yanqin YANG (right) from the National University of Singapore provides computer visualisations that mirror the physical conditions of the real plant. The digital twin is created using data collected from the sensors on the plant e-skin.
