Electrocatalysts are used in the production of green hydrogen through water electrolysis. During this process, pyrochlore catalysts drive the oxygen evolution reaction at the anode, while hydrogen is generated at the cathode. This artwork, which was selected as a cover for the Journal of the American Chemical Society, highlights the design of solid-state structures based on defect engineering principles to achieve enhanced catalytic activity.
