Up and down orientations of qubits at the nodes of a quasicrystal yield multiple magnetic configurations. Different textures can be created by applying different magnetic fields. A D-Wave quantum annealer demonstrated potential for material prototyping, experimenting with actual spins in purposely designed geometries.
