The cocktail includes two antibodies, one that targets the top of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (area S1) and one that targets the spike’s stem (area S2). This lower section is less likely to mutate, making this cocktail more effective against SARS-CoV-2 variants and other coronaviruses.
