An interventional radiologist and a urologist with UHealth – University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine highlighted an innovative procedure to treat enlarged prostate glands at a June 5 Capitol Hill briefing on men’s health.
Azizi Seixas, Ph.D., founding director of the Media and Innovation Lab (The MIL) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has been chosen by Amazon Web Services (AWS) as one of 10 U.S. Education Champions. The inaugural program showcases innovators driving digital transformation with cloud computing in the areas of teaching, learning, research, and academic medicine. AWS recognized Dr. Seixas and his fellow honorees at the IMAGINE 2022 conference in Seattle in August.
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Division of Digestive Health and Liver Diseases shines not only for its commitment to patient care and published research, but also as a beacon for advancing the careers of female physicians. The division is celebrating the latter during September, which is the American Medical Association’s National Women in Medicine Month.
