Newswise — Baltimore, MD. – LifeBridge Health & Fitness brings a new take on diet and healthy eating with the launch of its Nutrition Counseling Program, further strengthening its position as Maryland’s leader in medical fitness and total wellness. The program offers a combination of medically based nutritional counseling with a suite of other available services: in-home cooking lessons, a personalized grocery store tour and metabolic testing.
“We wanted to take the whole idea of nutritional counseling and take it to another level,” said Jarred Fajerski, executive director for LifeBridge Health & Fitness. “We are the first fitness center in the region to offer the traditional benefits of medically based nutritional counseling with hands-on, personalized options like in-home cooking lessons. This type of service is just another way we stand out from other fitness centers. We don’t want to just offer the community a place to get fit, we want to be a total wellness destination.”
The program is led by nutrition counseling leader Amanda Gilley, RD, LDN. As both a registered dietitian and trained culinary chef, Gilley can develop a unique plan for each client, dependent on his or her goals. She is also available for individualized private sessions and group lectures.
“Amanda won’t just help you learn about healthy eating, she’ll come to your kitchen and teach you herself,” said Fajerski.
The program is available to both LifeBridge Health & Fitness members and nonmembers. Participants can choose any or all of the program options. By customizing the available options, the participant can find the plan that best works for his or her individual goals and interests.
The Nutrition Counseling Program represents one of the many innovative programs offered by LifeBridge Health & Fitness. These include the Face-to-Face new member orientation; the Wellness Connection, a medically based exercise program; and the Parisi Speed School.
