Connie Flanagan, a professor in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is available to talk about the global youth climate protest movement. Flanagan says, "The climate crisis is arguably the biggest global political challenge facing younger generations - and, as in other social movements, it is youth (many too young to vote) who are leading the way and demanding action from their elders and their governments. Not only will younger generations have to cope with the realities of climate change but youth activism is typically motivated by concerns about social justice - and the climate crisis raises many social justice issues - those who have contributed the least to the crisis will disproportionately bear its costs."
