ATS 2016 will feature more than 500 sessions, 800 speakers, and scientific poster sessions and individual presentations of nearly 7,000 scientific and case report abstracts, covering a range of clinical and basic science discoveries that are changing medicine's understanding and treatment of patients.
A fully equipped and staffed press room, with computer workstations and laptop connections, will be available for registered journalists from Sunday, May 15, through Wednesday, May 18, in the West Building,third floor lobby in the San Francisco Moscone Convention Center.
The press room will feature news releases on key scientific presentations being made at the meeting, as well as access to physician experts in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. Briefings by research scientists will also be scheduled.
In addition to the many sessions taking place, you will have the opportunity to attend:
• The Opening Ceremony featuring J. Craig Venter, PhD, a biologist renowned for his contributions in sequencing a draft human genome in 2001.• The ATS Keynote Series, featuring eight presentations by experts on Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Drug Discovery, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Lung Cancer, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Sleep Apnea.• The J. Burns Amberson Lecturer presented by Marlene Rabinovitch, MD, the Dwight and Vera Dunlevie Professor of Pediatrics and professor of developmental biology at Stanford University School of Medicine, whose research focus is pulmonary arterial hypertension. • The Plenary Session featuring Katie Meyler, one of the “Ebola Fighters” collectively recognized by TIME magazine as the 2014 Person of the Year.• The President’s Symposium on applied physiology, featuring Jeffrey Fredberg, PhD, professor of bioengineering and physiology at the Harvard School of Public Health, and Jeffrey Drazen, MD, editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, among others.
