The Washington Post has posted a story on potential seal level rise of 20-30 feet if earth’s temperatures continues to warm just a little more than they are now. (Please see link below.) This is based on research just published in Nature magazine. Founder and director of the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative, Dr. Michael Scott is past chair of the Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, the first academic to lead the organization. He has worked with multiple state agencies, non-profits and businesses on GIS issues, particularly as they relate to sea level rise. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in Geography and Environmental Hazards and is currently interim dean of the Salisbury University Henson School of Science and Technology.
