The Seismic Safety and Modernization (SSM) project is replacing the previous cafeteria building, which served the lab for 70 years. (The previous facility could not meet today's standards for resilience in case of an earthquake, among other issues.) In contrast, the new facility has a 47,000-square-foot state-of-the-art design. It will encompass food service and conference facilities. The building will also be a home for operations services such as security, human resources, and the Health Services Clinic. /articles//images/uploads/2024/08/26/66cc85236ff76_082324-blog-sli.jpg Department of Energy, Office of Science AIC Chula Saraburi Expo 2024: International Food and Low Carbon in Agriculture and Livestock -- Enhancing AIC Networks, Boosting Innovation /articles/aic-chula-saraburi-expo-2024-international-food-and-low-carbon-in-agriculture-and-livestock-enhancing-aic-networks-boosting-innovation/?sc=c137 /articles/aic-chula-saraburi-expo-2024-international-food-and-low-carbon-in-agriculture-and-livestock-enhancing-aic-networks-boosting-innovation/?sc=c137 Mon, 26 Aug 2024 08:55:00 EST Agriculture,Business Ethics,Education,Entrepreneurship,Ethics and Research Methods,Food Science,Technology,Global Food News,Top Hit Stories Business News Higher Education Event <img src="/legacy/image.php?image=/images/uploads/2024/08/20/66c47b719043b_shutterstock2246671255.jpg&width=100&height=150" alt="Newswise image" />Agritech and Innovation Center (AIC), Chulalongkorn University, in Saraburi, with its network, organized the "AIC Chula Saraburi Expo 2024" on June 25-26, 2024, under the concept "International Food and Low Carbon in Agriculture and Livestock." Self-efficacy (a belief in one's ability to achieve a goal), social support, and managing cravings are among the treatment elements best supported by evidence. Effective treatment for alcohol use disorder (AUD) and other substance use disorders (SUDs) depends on understanding how human behaviors change and incorporating that knowledge into clinical practice. An ongoing research effort continues to investigate varying treatment approaches and how they relate to recovery outcomes, but those findings have not been well synthesized into a useful format. For the new review published in Alcohol: Clinical & Experimental Research, researchers from around the USA reviewed published studies, identified the treatment elements best supported by data, and evaluated their potential as key factors in behavior change. The study of real-world users shows promise for people who are uncomfortable with their drinking habits but may not meet the criteria for alcohol use disorder (AUD). Although they may be unlikely to aim for abstinence or to seek formal treatment, many are open to moderating their drinking. Digital interventions, such as self-guided online programs and smartphone apps, are easily accessible and engaging. Studies have shown that text-based messaging interventions can result in short- and medium-term reductions in alcohol use. Digital programs that tailor content according to users' evolving outcomes, similar to clinical care, may be particularly effective. Outcomes data are limited, however.
